Do not let your car sit idling for more than 30 seconds.

It wastes gas, causes unnecessary wear and tear on the engine and contributes to global warming.

Do you really need to let your car sit idling while you visit the RTS? Do you really need to warm up your car for 10 minutes before you head off to work? Do you know that if you leave your car idling outside Starbucks while you dash in for a soy decaf Latte Grande, and your car is stolen, your insurance company could blame you for negligence and refuse to pay for its replacement or repair?

Be smart. Turn it off. Enjoy the peace and quiet while you sit for five minutes outside school or whatever. Think of Al Gore.
