Dear Membership Director,

The Lesley Ellis School, at 41 Foster Street in Arlington, Massachusetts is holding its Third Annual Auction on Saturday, April 10, 1999. Proceeds from the auction are used to support the school’s Financial Aid Fund. This Fund is critical to Lesley Ellis’ ability to fulfill and expand its commitment to continuously expand the diversity of the student body by increasing access to families of all means.

Lesley Ellis offers preschool and pre-kindergarten classes through 3rd grade. Lesley Ellis families predominately live in Arlington, but also represent many of the surrounding communities: Cambridge, Belmont, Winchester, Lexington and Medford, Massachsuetts.

The success of any fundraiser depends heavily on the support and generosity of both the parent and business communities. Last year our families were responsible for directly contributing half of the items in the auction and for soliciting the remainder from their employers and from local merchants and corporations and internet contacts.

We would appreciate you considering a donation of family membership. Your museum will be highlighted in the auction program under the item description and in a comprehensive business donor list. We trust that the good will your gift represents and the exposure your business will receive as a result of your participation in the event will more than compensate you for whatever you may contribute.

Thank you for considering making a donation to the Lesley Ellis Auction.

Sincerely,

Lisa Labadini

Hard to get back to Needham now that my folks sold their place on Pinewood Road. The house was in the family since it was built - and one of the first three on the street. Last itme back was three years ago. Nostalgia. Things sure have changed, some of which I'm not too sure have been for the good. Is the tree in the square still blue and white at Christmas? I've been in Texas since 1979. Haven't shoveled any snow yet.

  • I have a question, probably for Polly Attridge. Do you know who named Needham? We assume it was named after Needham Market England. Correct us if that's wrong. Thank you. Emily and Larry Gerstner

  • Just surfed on to this site looking up info on pansies. Was very excited to check out the Pansy Festival....but it's already taken place a year ago. ( sniff, sniff...)

I enjoy crystallizing pansies and violas and therefore, always searching for a new pansy variety . My favorites are the Imperial Antiques and the Blueberry Cream violas.....any pansy in the pastel blends !!

Have fun and best of luck with your goals...they sound terrific!!

    Warmly,

    Vicki

  • Dear Sir/Madam,

As the Speakers Bureau Coordinator for Parents Anonymous of Massachusetts, I have been given the challenge of spreading the word about our wonderful organization.

Put simply, Parents Anonymous promotes a network of mutual-support groups all over Massachusetts for parents who feel isolated, overwhelmed or afraid of their anger toward their children. These groups are parent led and provide a support network for parents to develop better parenting skills.

We have several parents and facilitators who speak about Parents Anonymous. These PAfolks, as we call them, give informal talks about the following topics:

    What is Parents Anonymous?
    How did Parents Anonymous begin?
What is a Parents Anonymous Meeting?
Who goes to Parents Anonymous meetings?
How can a parent become involved with Parents Anonymous?
Why did this parent become involved with Parents Anonymous?
Is Parents Anonymous just for parents who abuse?
Is Parents Anonymous a 12-step program?
What is the effectiveness of Parents Anonymous?
How is Parents Anonymous the most cost effective treatment program?

Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information about our Speakers Bureau. Thank you very much for your time and your consideration.

    Sincerely,

    Roberta Myers-Baturin
