Wonderful to see Needham on the Internet. I lived in Needham
from 1959 until 1971 - graduated from Needham High School in
1971, but moved then to Norway.

I am now a general practitioner in the town of Tromsų, in Northern
Norway. Are there any links to the high school - it would be fun to see if
they had any updated information about the class of 1971 - addresses and so
on....

I very much enjoyed the Needham web site. As a 1980 graduate
of Needham High it was nice to be able to catch up on local happenings
online.

I was surprised to that the brief history of Needham did not mention the
train loads of soil taken from High School hill to fill in the Back Bay of
Boston.

(Webmaster: Anyone care to fill us in?)

I love this page. I found it looking for Frontpage applications
since I will soon be involved in doing a home page for our company. This
was one of the best. Very easy to get around in and just
the right amount of hominess and technology.

Keep up the good work. I know nothing about Needham and
would never live in the East but I'm sure I'll have to come visit you.

I just moved to NY from the Boston area (Brookline actually), so knowing
of Needham (some of my best friends are from Needham), I was intrigued
when I saw you had won Microsoft's contest. Your website is wonderful!

What a great service! I'd be interested in seeing more on the schools,
particularly a map of the school districts and any plans for redistricting
once the Newman opens again. I've lived in Needham for almost a
year--so far, so good!

Hi Amy and Lee:

I really like your site. I found it through the Microsoft FrontPage
website.......but I'm fairly local. I live in Boston's Back Bay.

I'm a FrontPage user too. I've been trying to install the Excite search
engine, but when I perform searches with it, it comes back "File Not
Found." If you could tell me how you got the search engine to work
with FrontPage, I would really appreciate it.

If you are interested, check out my website at:
http://www.contingencyanalysis.com

Thanks,

Glyn Holton

(Webmaster's note: Glyn, I had minor problems with the Excite search engine, but
only during installation. Specifying the correct file locations is critical, and the
documentation is a little cryptic...In any event, the search engine works fine with
any HTML files...it's not directly related to FrontPage...Make sure you have a good
installation, and things should work okay...)

Transferring seems to take a long time. Longer than other web pages.

(Webmaster's note: When we first built this website, we had very few graphics, and
the text loaded pretty quickly. Now that we've got many more graphics, more content,
and significantly more traffic, our little 28.8 dialup connection is taking a beating. System
is fine...plenty of memory, disk, etc...just not enough pipe between the server and your
browser.

Anyone want to donate a T1 line to the cause?

Maybe a fractional T1?)

Nice Web Site w/ Style. Thank Microsoft for Getting me here.
Q: Using FrontPage '97 beta yet? I'll be downloading it tomorrow.

(Webmaster's note: Yep, got it on CD from Microsoft a couple of weeks ago.
It's got some nice refinements over 1.1).

Great idea & bound to grow! Have sysops considered setting up
local talk/exchange bulletin board? Would likely beat the
Ltrs To Editor approach!

(Webmaster's note: I view this format as similar to that of a traditional Bed&Breakfast
guestbook, where a guest can sign the book and read what others have written...
and where' they're visiting from.

That having been said, I'm investigating forum software to allow for un-moderated
discussion on the site. Are other people interested in this?)

I very much appreciate your efforts as a lifelong needhamite who
represents internet companies as the internet grows, so will
the significance of your efforts grow in the life of our town.

FYI, the back bay was filled in with fill from needham's greendale,
now 128 and the industrial park. Land was transported by rail day
and night for over 20 years in the mid-1880's. For those named needham,
the name needham comes from the "city" of Needham Market in England,
a small village.

Just making contact with consigned clothing stores on the WEB.
I'm trying to determine what benefits have been noticed with
regards to listing your business on the Internet.

I am also wondering what would be the most effective way to
cross-link and/or index consignment clothing stores like ours?

Lived in Needham, 1954-1960. Haven't talked to anyone from Needham
in many years, but would like to find out what's been happening. Are there
any class reunions, and if so, would an almost grad be welcome? (Actually,
I graduated from H.S. in Abington, PA, and then on to Penn State for a
few degrees. Currently residing in Knoxville, Tennessee, and have been
on the business school faculty at UT for 24 years.

But I need help. I'm putting a course syllabus on the web
(a "Syllaweb") with FrontPage.
