DESCRIPTION OF SKATING LEVELS
BEGINNER I: No prior skating experience
BEGINNER II: Can stand on skates, stop, fall, get up. Preparing
for figure skating skills.
PRE HOCKEY: Can stand on skates, stop, fall, get up. Preparing
for hockey skills.
INTERMEDIATE: Can glide forward, backward; turn; snow plow;
forward sculling.
INTER. II/ADV.: Can glide on one foot; skate forward crossovers;
various stops. Perfect style, increase endurance.
Itsy Bitsy Arts (and Mom!)
A creative workshop geared to the abilities of 3 - 5 year olds. Children attend once a week in an 8 week session, with an adult helper.

Ballet
Classical ballet program consisting of traditional work at the barre, center floor practice, and across the floor technique at the Broadmeadow School.

16th Annual Turkey Hunt
For children 12 years and under. Clues to the whereabouts of a paper turkey are given every Tuesday and Thursday starting October 20, 1998. Call the Community Information Line (781)444-7212) to collect the clues, with the last clue given on Thursday, November 5, 1998. The first child to locate the "turkey" that is hidden in a Needham park and bring it to the Park and Recreation Office, will receive a certificate for a turkey from Roche Bros., Inc. Happy Hunting!
USAVolleyball Youth Teams
The national volleyball program for boys and girls ages 9 - 12. Practices combined with matches against other suburban teams.
Day/Time: Sundays 4:00 - 6:30 PM
Session: January 4 - May 17, 1998 ??
Limit: Minimum 8, maximum 20
Requirements: Previous instructional experience or enrollment in
Youth Volleyball Instruction or League.
Location: Pollard School. Transportation required for away
matches.
Fee: $125/child or $200/max/family

Youth Volleyball Instruction
Learn the fundamentals of volleyball skills, including pass, set, spike and serve. Rules and game strategy included. Modified games will be played.
